State Testing

All students at Calhoun Falls Charter School are required to participate in mandatory state testing.  For questions about state testing, please contact Regina Washington at rwashington@cfpcs.org.

SC READY

Who & What?

SC READY is given to all students in grades 6-8.  Students will take an assessment in Reading, Writing, and Math. 

When & Where?

Testing will occur in May over a period of 3 days.  Please refer to the current assessment calendar for specific dates.

SC PASS

The SC PASS Science assessment is only given to 6th grade students. 

Testing will occur in May.  Please refer to the current assessment calendar for the specific date.

EOC

(End of Course Examination)

EOC exams are given to any student taking Algebra 1, Intermediate Algebra, Biology 1, English 2, or US History.  The exam counts at 20% of the student's final course grade.

Testing occurs in December (for S1 EOC courses) and in May (for S2 EOC courses).  Please refer to the current assessment calendar for specific dates.

College Entrance Assessments

Offered to students in their 3rd year of high school.  Students may choose to take either the SAT or ACT at no cost.  Only one assessment may be chosen. 

Testing will take place on the CFCS campus.  Typically in March or April.  Please refer to the current assessment calendar for specific test dates. 

OPTIONAL

Career Readiness Assessment

Required of all students in their 3rd year of high school.  The exam measures a student's career readiness in four areas:  Math, Reading, Locating Information, and Soft Skills. 

Testing will take place in either March or April.  Please refer to the current academic calendar for specific dates.

PSAT

The PSAT is the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.  Available to students in grades 8, 10 and 11. 

The PSAT is given on one day in October.  The date is set by the College Board.  Please refer to the current assessment calendar for the specific date. 

OPTIONAL

 

ASVAB

While not a SC state mandated exam, the ASVAB is given to 11th graders.  It is a timed, multi-aptitude test that can help determine if a student is a good fit for the military and which branch one might be best fitted for. 

The ASVAB is typically given in November on the CFCS campus by a member of the military.  Please refer to the current assessment calendar for the specific date.
